About us
Honoring a Legacy, Inspiring a Movement
The Irengbam Chaoren Memorial Trust was established in loving memory of Irengbam Chaoren, a fearless freedom fighter, visionary thinker, and uncompromising advocate for justice. Throughout his life, Chaoren stood as a symbol of resistance against oppression and a voice for the voiceless. His unwavering dedication to the ideals of equality, truth, and dignity continues to inspire generations even after his passing.
The Trust was born out of a collective desire to preserve his legacy and bring his ideas into action — to ensure that his life's work continues to influence, educate, and empower people from all walks of life. Through our work, we seek to translate his values into lasting change in society.
Our Purpose
At its heart, the Irengbam Chaoren Memorial Trust is a people-centric institution built on the foundational principles that Sir Chaoren lived and died for — justice, integrity, courage, and compassion. We serve as a platform for social transformation, cultural preservation, and community empowerment.
We believe that true change comes not only from remembering our heroes but also from actively walking in their path. Our programs are designed to support the marginalized, uplift the youth, encourage intellectual inquiry, and inspire ethical leadership.
Mission Statement
To preserve, promote, and embody the values of Sir Irengbam Chaoren by:
Educating and empowering young minds through scholarships, mentorship, and skill-building programs.
Advancing social justice through legal aid, community forums, and policy advocacy.
Supporting cultural identity and indigenous heritage through research, documentation, and events.
Engaging the public in critical dialogue, seminars, and memorial lectures on topics close to Sir Chaoren's vision.
Promoting human rights and civil liberties, particularly among underrepresented and oppressed communities.
Vision
We envision a world where:
Justice is not an exception, but a norm;
Voices are not silenced by fear, but amplified through courage;
And where truth and conviction lead social transformation, just as Sir Chaoren dreamed.
Our goal is to build a conscious society where citizens are informed, empathetic, and fearless in their pursuit of what is right — where Sir Chaoren’s legacy is not just remembered, but lived every day.
What We Do
The Trust actively undertakes a variety of programs and initiatives:
Providing scholarships, educational materials, and academic mentoring to economically disadvantaged students.
Organizing youth leadership camps, activist training, and debate platforms to instill values of critical thinking and civic responsibility.
Publishing the writings, speeches, and philosophy of Sir Chaoren to reach newer generations and academic circles.
Hosting dialogues, awareness campaigns, and partnerships with rights-based organizations to further the cause of peace and dignity.
Supporting local artists, folklore preservation, and indigenous knowledge systems through festivals, exhibitions, and grants.
Beyond Religion, Beyond Boundaries Sir Chaoren was a man beyond religious lines — his life and philosophy were rooted in universal humanity. While he did not align with any formal religion, his spirit evokes deep reverence across communities. His followers, from all faiths and none, continue to pray for his eternal peace in their own way — not out of ritual, but out of genuine love and respect. The Trust, too, stands beyond sectarian divisions, welcoming individuals from all walks of life who believe in justice, compassion, and fearless service to the people..
